Inauguration of Library at Embassy of India, Caracas

Ambassador of India to Venezuela, H.E. Mr. Rahul Shrivastava inaugurated the library in the premises of Embassy of India, Caracas on March 20, 2018. The ceremony witnessed participation by students of two nearby schools along with their Directors and teachers. A few local people also attended.

2. Ambassador spoke about the importance of library and also of book reading in day to day life. He encouraged the students and the teachers to make full use of the Embassy's library and also to disseminate information to their friends and families who may be interested to read the books on various aspects of India. The Directors congratulated the Mission to open the library for use by public due to which, the students who are next door, can utilize it to the maximum. One student spoke about the Indian and the Venezuelan national flags while three other expressed their thoughts on India. Two students presented their artwork to Ambassador, which included projection of the Venezuela landscape, nature etc. and a hand-made stress buster producing the sound of rain on flipping. Light Indian refreshment was served in the end. The event was enjoyed and appreciated by all present.

3. The library containing around 2500 books may be accessed by anyone between 2 and 4 PM on working Tuesdays and Thursdays every week.
