CELEBRATION OF PRAVASI BHARATIYA DIVAS AND WORLD HINDI DAY

Embassy of India, Caracas celebrated Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and World Hindi Day on 09th January 2020 at the Mission’s premises

The programme commenced with lighting of the Indian traditional lamp. In his address, Cd’A welcomed the members of the Indian community and informed them about the various programmes of Government of India for the Indian daspora. He congratulated the Hindi students on learning Hindi and encouraged them to continue their efforts in this regard. He read out PM’s message on World Hindi Day to the attendees. He also apprised them of the salient features of the Indian Constitution.

A live streaming of the video interaction of Minister of External Affairs of the Government of India, Dr S. Jaishankar with 08 Indian Missions abroad, on occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, was projected during the event. Hindi students recited Hindi poems, songs and quotes of Indian leaders. A Hindi quiz was also held for the audience. All Hindi participants and winners of the quiz were gifted a souvenir with Hindi theme. 

During the event, the video “Spirit of Freedom” was screened to commemorate “Constitution Day and Campaign on Citizens’ Duties” and a photographic exhibition on the life of Mahatma Gandhi was displayed to mark his 150th Birth Anniversary. 

Around 80 people, including Indian nationals, local Hindi students and friends of India, were served light Indian refreshment at the end.
