The 'Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra' paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by hosting a full concert on 2 October 2016. The event was put together by 'Mahatma Gandhi Venezuela' Foundation. 800 people attended the concert.

The Ambassador of India, H.E. Mr. P. K. Ashokbabu, met with the Mayor of the Municipality of Chacao, Mr. Gustavo Duque and his wife, Mrs. Vanessa Bachrich. They discussed the possibilities of cultural exchange between the Embassy and the Municipality of Chacao.
