To strengthen cooperation with Venezuelan regions, Ambassador Shrivastava visited Sabaneta in Barinas, which is the birthplace of late President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez. Ambassador met the Mayor of Sabaneta, visited the Cultural Centre, the home and the school of Hugo Chavez. An Indian cultural troupe would be visiting Sabaneta in January 2017 to commemorate India's Republic Day.
