Launch of books on North-Eastern States

  Ambassador of India to Venezuela launched two books - one fact book and the other coffee table book - on the North Eastern States of India, in Spanish. The ceremony for release of the books was organized at Santiago de Leon School, La Floresta, Caracas on 21st March 2018. Around 180 people attended the event which included largely the students from the two nearby schools, Santiago de Leon and Icane. The Directors of the schools along with a few teachers were the main invitees.  Some local people also joined.


 Ambassador spoke about the beauty of the eight North Eastern States of India as well as about their culture and prosperity. He informed that there is a separate Ministry in Government of India for its North Eastern States. He thanked the Directors for supporting the launch of the books.

The Directors expressed their happiness on attending the event which they described as a huge success. They also indicated their desire to participate in the future celebrations of Embassy of India, Caracas.

 Some students from both the schools gave shorts performances. One student spoke about the letter of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to his daughter Indira while another one recited a poem of Rabindranath Tagore. A group of three students from Icane School talked about the significance of different colours in Indian and Venezuelan flags. Their enthusiasm was quite evident.


Second Secretary (PIC) delivered the vote of thanks, after which the participants were served Indian refreshment. Copies of the books were also distributed to the attendees."
