Exhibition on Handloom, Handicrafts and Home Décor Items of India

The Embassy of India, Caracas, in partnership with the Direction of Culture of the Government of Trujillo is organizing the Exhibition on Handloom, Handicrafts and Home Décor Items of India at the Foro Bolivariano in the city of Valera, Trujillo from 04-15 September 2017. On 03 September 2017, Shri Kaushik Roy Chowdhury, Second Secretary of the Embassy along with General-in-Chief Henry Rangel Silva, Governor of Trujillo State, inaugurated the exhibition. Around 150 people attended the inauguration ceremony that was preceded by an Indian dance performance by the Taj Mahal group, followed by speeches of Second Secretary and the Governor. 

The exhibition will display decorative items for personal and home use, handmade by Indian artisans using traditional methods that have been inherited from generation to generation through the course of centuries. Also, some items manufactured using modern technology will be displayed. 

This exhibition is a result from the previous visit to Trujillo by the Ambassador of India during February 2017, taking further steps in the strengthening of the cooperation between India and Trujillo; as the first of its kind activity organized by an Embassy in Trujillo. The exhibition will be open to the public until 15 September 2017 from 09:00 am – 05:00pm.
