Celebration of 71st Republic Day of India
Embassy of India, Caracas organized two events in celebration of the 71st Republic Day of India, the Flag Hoisting ceremony and the Reception.

2. In the morning on January 26, 2020, Cd'A unfurled the tri-colour at 0900 hours and read out the excerpts of the speech of our Hon'ble President on this occasion. Around 80 people including Venezuelan Government officials, members of the diplomatic community, Indian diaspora and friends of India enjoyed subsequently the Bollywood dances presented by the local Venezuelan groups and a patriotic song sung by Mrs. Roy. They were offered light Indian refreshments at the end.

3. The reception in the evening of January 27, 2020 at Hotel JW Marriott, Caracas was graced by the Executive Vice President of Venezuela, H.E. Ms. Delcy Rodríguez. She congratulated the Prime Minister of India, Government of India and the people of India on their 71st Republic Day and mentioned that the bilateral cooperation between India and Venezuela is based on the principles of benefits shared by the people of both countries. While informing the attendees about India's major social, political and economic achievements in the last year, Cd'A said that with the concerted efforts from both sides, mutually beneficial ties between the two nations would be able to scale even greater heights.

4. In commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Vice President, H.E. Ms. Delcy Rodríguez and the Cd'A unveiled a painting made by a renowned Venezuelan artist, Mr. Ender Cepeda, at the behest of this Embassy.

5. Lively performances of Odissi dance, Bollywood dance and Indian instrumental music, that followed, enthralled the spectators. About 300 guests present in the event, appreciated the delicious Indian food served to them.
