3rd Ayurveda Day Celebrated at Maracay, Venezuela


Embassy of India in Caracas and Gran Fraternidad Universal Foundation, Maracay celebrated the 3rd Ayurveda Day at AYUSH Information Cell, El Limon, Maracay on 5th November 2018.

Second Secretary (Com & PIC) welcomed the participants and explained the principles and benefits of Ayurveda that dates back to the ancient Indian culture. He also urged them to introduce Ayurveda to their family and friends. Guru Gazi Baik, Director of Gran Fraternidad Universal spoke about the relation of dietary habits with the health of an individual and how the Ayurvedic treatment may be effective at low cost in Venezuela.

Two Ayurveda practitioners, Dr. Rosmira Milano and Dr. Maribel Mendez gave presentations on “Ayurveda for Public Health” informing about the practice of Ayurveda in Venezuela and also around the world. Dr. Maribel Mendez is a doctor of Internal medicine and Dr. Rosmira Milano is a dentist in Venezuela. They motivated the attendees to try the Ayurvedic treatment by visiting the regular consultations being held in the AYUSH Information Cell. In the morning, free consultations were also arranged by the practitioners at the AYUSH Information Cell, which were availed of by many people looking for a remedy to their problems.

The documentary “A Journey of Ayurveda” was screened during the event attended by around 70 persons. Many of them expressed their interest in having a full-fledged Ayurveda course in a Venezuelan university and also more facilities for the Ayurvedic treatment in Venezuela
