Inauguration of Gandhi Hall at Maracay to commemorate the celebrations of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

 

 

1. To continue with the celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi's 150th Birth Anniversary, Embassy of India, Caracas and the Gran Fraternidad Universal, Maracay organized the inauguration of a Gandhi Hall on October 30, 2018 at Ashram Nº1, Maracay, Venezuela.  

2. Director of Ashram Nº1, Guru Gazi Baik thanked Ambassador of India to Venezuela and Embassy of India, Caracas for their support and efforts promoting Mahatma Gandhi. He mentioned that Mahatma Gandhi has influenced their thoughts deeply.

3. Ambassador of India to Venezuela, H.E. Mr. Rajiv Kumar Nagpal, addressed the gathering highlighting the importance of Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts and lessons for the contemporary world and thanked Gran Fraternidad Universal for their tireless work in promoting Indian culture.

4. The students of the school run by Gran Fraternidad Universal sang Raghúpati Rághava Raya Ram, a favorite bhajan of Mahatma Gandhi. One student dressed as Mahatma Gandhi narrated the life history of the Great Saint of India.

5. Ambassador of India to Venezuela H.E. Mr. Rajiv Kumar Nagpal and Director of the Ashram Nº1 jointly inaugurated the Gandhi Hall where a bust of Mahatma Gandhi and pictures of Mahatma Gandhi have been displayed.

6. Around 100 Gandhians participated at the event and enjoyed vegetarian snacks and soft drinks.
