Samvidhan Diwas (Constitution Day) 2016 celebrated in Caracas
A seminar titled 'Samvidhan Diwas (Constitution Day)' was organised in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Study Centre, Santa Maria University, Caracas, on 29 November at 2 pm. The Study Centre was opened earlier this year on the occasion of birthday of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Shri Pardeep Kumar, Second Secretary (Political), made a presentation on the salient features of the Constitution, the philosophy behind the Preamble, the making of the Constitution, and its basic features. Prof. (Ms) Belén Briceño, International Law in Santa Maria University, made a powerpoint presentation on the salient features of the Venezuelan Constitution. Dr. Cesar Loaiza, a constitutional expert who has published commentaries on Constitutional Law, made a comparative analysis of the features of Indian and Venezuelan constitutions. The panel later fielded questions from the participants. About 70 law students participated in the event.
