Inauguration of Yoga Classes for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Central Bank of Venezuela.

Inauguration of Yoga Classes for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Central Bank of Venezuela

 

1. Embassy of India, Caracas, Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Central Bank of Venezuela inaugurated the Yoga classes to be conducted by the Teacher of Indian Culture from Government of India at Plaza Juan Pedro Lopez, Banco Central, Caracas, Venezuela on November 01, 2018. Employees of about 6 Venezuelan Ministries, Central Bank of Venezuela and other public/ private establishments around this place are expected to join the Yoga classes scheduled here.

2. The guests were welcomed by the classical Venezuelan music group who played a mesmerizing classical number. Director of Staff Health of Central Bank Mr. Jesus Vazquez spoke about the importance of Yoga in everyday life and work. Vice Minister of Asia, Middle East and Oceania, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Venezuela, H.E. Mr. Ruben Dario Molina, mentioned about the universal character of Yoga and said that the underlying principle in practice of Yoga - Peace - is the necessity of today’s world.  He added that he was hopeful that arrangement of Yoga Classes by Embassy of India would be a step ahead in deepening the already existing cordial bilateral relations between India and Venezuela.

3. Ambassador of India to Venezuela, H.E. Mr. Rajiv Kumar Nagpal, in his address, highlighted how the resolution for declaring the International Day of Yoga was co-sponsored by 177 member nations of United Nations and how it was passed in the shortest possible time.  He thanked Vice Minister for Asia for his unconditional support in arranging the Yoga classes and invited the participants to enjoy and learn from all the activities being held by Embassy of India, Caracas from time to time.


4. The documentary “Yoga in Harmony with Nature” was screened and a Bollywood dance was performed by a local dance group.  A Yoga session by the Teacher of Indian Culture followed  the formal ceremony.


5. Around 80 people were present in the event. Light yogic food was served at the end.
