On Tuesday, the new extraordinary ambassador and appointed plenipotentiary of the Republic of India before the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Rajiv Kumar Nagpal, arrived at the Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetía, in the state of Vargas.

In this regard, the new Ambassador of India was received by his diplomatic staff accredited in Venezuela and by a delegation from the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs headed by the General Director of the Office of the Deputy Minister for Asia Middle East and Oceania, Elizabeth Pereira Rohan .

Next, the new Head of the Diplomatic Mission signed the visitor's book of the Official Montesacro Hall.

The Diplomat of India has distinguished himself in positions as Deputy Secretary (SE-II & III), in New Delhi, from August 2012 to October 2015, and since then he has served as Ambassador of India to the Republic of Iceland .

Venezuela and India established diplomatic relations since October 1, 1959, which were strengthened from 1999 with the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez Frías to the Presidency of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
